- It helps neutralize acidity in the urethra, making the environment more sperm-friendly.
- It may assist in reducing friction during intercourse.
Unlike semen, which contains sperm, precum itself does not originate from the testicles, where sperm are produced.
Does Precum Contain Sperm?

- Perfect use failure rate: Around 4%, meaning that if done correctly every single time, it’s more effective but still carries risk.

- Herpes
Since STIs are often transmitted through skin-to-skin contact and bodily fluids, using a condom is essential for protection.

If you’re sexually active and not ready for pregnancy, consider using reliable contraception methods such as:
- Condoms: Protect against both pregnancy and STIs.
- Birth control pills, patches, or other hormonal methods: Prevent ovulation, making pregnancy unlikely.
- Intrauterine devices (IUDs): Highly effective long-term birth control options.
- Emergency contraception: If unprotected sex has already occurred, options like the morning-after pill can help reduce pregnancy risk.
